National Pharmacovigilance Week Celebration-2025 Dept of Pharmacology, SGRRIM&HS, Dehradun

With the blessings, support and guidance of the Chairman, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, the Department of Pharmacology, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences (SGRRIM&HS) celebrated the National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17th to 23rd September 2025 with the theme “Your safety is just a click away-Report to PvPI”. On 20th September 2025, a walkathon was organized by the Department of Pharmacology, SGRRIM&HS under the supervision of Prof and HOD, Dr Shakti Bala Dutta, in which Medical Superintendent, Dr Gaurav Raturi, HODs, faculty members and MBBS students of 2023 batch participated with great enthusiasm. The Honourable Chairman, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji, interacted with the MBBS students and encouraged them to promptly report adverse drug reactions to improve patient safety. The significance of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) reporting was emphasized by the Director, Dr Manoj Kumar Gupta, Principal, Dr Ashok Nayak who requested the health care professions to report adverse drug reactions and improve patient outcomes. Banners and Pamphlets were disseminated amongst the patients of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital sensitizing them about the importance of ADR reporting for patient wellbeing. The ADR monitoring centre in the Department of Pharmacology, SGRRIM&HS monthly uploads the ADR reports to National Coordination Centre (NCC), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad.

Various activities were organized by the Department of Pharmacology during the National Pharmacovigilance week which included poster competition for MBBS students of 2023 batch. The winners of the poster competition were Jaipratap Singh, Oneeka Setia and Riya Pal. Besides this, the residents of the department of Pharmacology also visited the various OPDs, wards of the hospital, Community Health Centers: RHTC and UHTC and sensitized the patients regarding ADR reporting for improving patient safety.

The National Pharmacovigilance week-2025 was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof and HOD, Pharmacology Dr Shakti Bala Dutta. The other contributors from Pharmacology department included Professors; Dr Suman Bala, Dr Shalu Bawa, Dr Rashmi Singla, Assistant Professors; Dr Kavita, Dr Bhawna, Dr Chavi Jain, Dr Shruti Malhotra; Senior Resident; Dr Libin Sanjeev, Postgraduates; Dr Sushrut, Dr Pallavi, Dr Paridhi, Tutors; Dr Archana, Dr Arushi, Pharmacovigilance Associate; Mr Bipin Tamta, Technical staff; Mr Rajiv Vassi and Mr Sanjeev Gusain.
