The Department of Psychiatry of Sri Mahant Indresh Hospital was established in 2002 and is located in the city of Dehradun comprising of Consultation and MCI recognized postgraduate course in Psychiatry viz MD started in 2016 as well as Ph.D. program. Since then the department has expanded in strength and scope of activities in keeping with increasing patient load and importance attached to psychiatry as an integral part of total health care.
The department has the services of a faculty of psychiatrists and specialists in behavioral sciences allied to psychiatry.
The department aims to provide care to patients in a wide variety of contexts, to ensure maximum clinical exposure to postgraduate students, and to facilitate research.The academic activities of the department are multifaceted and bring out the potential of students as well as enhance their ability of critical thinking about some of the most important mental health issues faced by our society today.
The clinical activities of the department are primarily at the outpatient and inpatient level and Apart from patients seeking consultation directly at the departmentour services are provided 24*7 in the Emergency Department of the hospital and OPD services comprising of De-addiction, Geriatrics’ clinic, Child clinic, mood clinic, and other psychiatric disorders psychotherapies, family counseling, EEG, RTMS, M-ECT where we provide a supportive environment for individuals to practice new coping skills.
In our Inpatient services, we provide very close staff support and supervision for safety. We at the Indresh Hospital are committed to providing in-depthbiopsychosocial assessments to ensure safety and proper level of care for the patient.
