Department of Nephrology caters to all kind of renal patients including Chronic Kidney disease, Acute Kidney Failure, Hypertension and resistant hypertension, all kinds of extracorporeal therapy, Renal Transplantation recipients and CAPD patients. Department has Dialysis unit with 29 dialysis stations with modern dialysis machines with facility to dialyze Hepatitis B and C patients separately. Unit has 4 reprocessors also. Unit performs approximately 2000 sessions per month. Unit has team of 26 qualified nursing staff and technicians. Unit provides maintenance and acute dialysis. All beds are equipped with central 02, suction and multipara monitors. Department also extends service for care of ICU patients by providing CRRT , SLED and standard HD. Besides this plasmapheresis is also performed in department. Department also provides Acute PD facility for children. CAPD training and care of CAPD patients is being provided by department. Department has 40 bedded ward dedicated for care of renal patients. Ward is always full. Ward has central 02supply, suction and multipara monitors. Department also has 10-12 patients daily in different ICUs. Department provides OPD services daily for patients. Department also performs approximately 120-150 renal biopsies of native kidney and graft annually. Department puts 25-30 Jugular and subclavian access for HD patients per month. Department also inserts 6-8 permcath per month. Department has 5 bedded kidney transplant unit for care of renal transplant patients. Department provides renal transplant facility for living related and spousal donations. Department has 8 publications to its credit in last 2 years. There has been presentation form department in American Society of nephrology and world cogress of Nephrology.
