The Gastroenterology Department at SMIH, DEHRADUN aims at providing the best treatment to patients with diseases involving Gastrointestinal, liver and pancreato-biliary tracts. The Department has the advanced facilities and carries out almost all major endoscopy and radiology assisted procedures. At the Gastroenterology Department, we aim to make our patients’ recovery quick and early, with the personalized care and a team of well trained medical staff.
For complicated cases, we along with surgeons and intervention radiologist work together for maximal benefit of patients and good recovery.
The most advanced level of medical and surgical care is available for treatment, primarily focused on the safe and proven treatment of disorders related to the gastrointestinal tract. We perform more than 200 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy, fluoroscopy and ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) in a single month. Management of acute/life threatening conditions such as acute liver failure, GI bleed, acute pancreatitis, acute colitis, biliary sepsis etc is done as per interventional guideline.
The Hospital has dedicated Medical ICU and emergency unit equipped with ventilators and intensive monitoring gadgets. Surgeons and intensivists are available round the clock
The Department of Gastroenterology aims at offering comprehensive multi-disciplinary care of gastrointestinal liver, biliary and pancreatic disorders.
