CPR & CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT WORKSHOP ORGANIZED AT SHRI MAHANT INDIRESH HOSPITAL

Experts from SGRR Institute of Medical & Health Sciences highlighted medical and practical aspects of life-saving emergency care Important training provided on emergency response techniques during critical situations

A one-day workshop on Cardiac Life Support and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) with the title ‘Cardiac Life Support Skill’ was organized on Thursday at Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. The objective of the workshop was to train doctors and postgraduate medical students in critical life-saving techniques during emergencies.

The workshop was inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Manoj Gupta, Medical Director of SGRRIM&HS; Dr. Ashok Nayak, Principal, Dr. Puneet Ohri, and other senior medical professionals.

Dr. Anjali Chaudhary emphasized the importance of Basic Life Support (BLS), explaining how immediate response during incidents like sudden unconsciousness or cardiac arrest in public places can help save lives and ensure the patient reaches the hospital in a stable condition. She stressed that BLS training is essential not just for healthcare workers, but also for the general public.

Dr. Manoj Gupta stated that in today’s healthcare landscape, knowledge of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and BLS is essential for all healthcare professionals.

Dr. Ashok Nayak addressed the postgraduate participants, highlighting the value of such workshops in enhancing practical medical skills and preparing students to become competent and skilled medical professionals.

Dr. Nishith Govil, Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, conducted a live demonstration of CPR techniques using a mannequin. He explained the correct process of chest compressions, rescue breathing, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Special focus was also given to precautions to be taken while performing CPR on children and pregnant women.

Dr. Ashutosh Singh, Head of the Emergency Medicine Department, explained how Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) can be critical in saving a patient’s life in the event of sudden cardiac arrest within hospital premises. He underscored the need for all hospital staff to be well-trained in ACLS protocols.

Dr. Hariom Khandelwal explained the interpretation of Electrocardiograms (ECG) and how analyzing the heart’s electrical activity can help in diagnosing potential cardiac conditions.

Dr. Rahul Chauhan shared in-depth insights into diseases associated with tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), including symptoms, causes, and treatment options.

Dr. Umme Mariam discussed the post-heart attack care, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation, continuous monitoring, and medical management for patients recovering from cardiac events.
