Dehradun. Under the joint aegis of Department of Surgery of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and Uttar Pradesh Association of Surgeons of India (U.P.A.S.I.), a Live Operative Workshop and Conference was organized with the title ‘LAPCON-2022’. Eminent laparoscopic surgeons demonstrated the operations of hernia and gall bladder related and modern laparoscopic surgery via live operation demonstration from the Operation Theatres of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. More than 200 surgeons who came from different states learnt the modern laparoscopic techniques minutely.
On Saturday, the State Level Live Operative Workshop and Conference began with lamp lightening, jointly by Vice Chancellor, Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. U.S. Rawat, President, U.P.A.S.I., Dr. J.P. Sharma, HOD, Deptt. of Surgery, Dr. Anurag Bijlwan, and Secretary, U.P.A.S.I., Dr. Nikhil Singh.
In his Welcome Address, Dr. J.P. Sharma welcomed all the guests and participants at the State Level Operative Workshop and Conference on behalf of U.P.A.S.I. He threw light over the significance and objective of this programme. Chief Guest Dr. U.S. Rawat threw light over Shri Guru Ram Rai University, its various institutions including Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health and its teaching hospital Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, and their achievements. He congratulated U.P.A.S.I. and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital over the organizing of this knowledge imparting intellectual class programme.
In the Live Operative Workshop and Conference, ‘LAPCON-2022’, eminent and highly experienced laparoscopic surgeons from prestigious institutions conducted live operations by IPOM PLUS and ETAP techniques and showed how to do them successfully.
In the Live Operative Workshop and Conference, Dr. M.C. Mishra, Ex Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S.), New Delhi and famous laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon Dr. Shivanshu Mishra, Dr. Prashant Bhowate, Dr. Asuri Krishnan gave live demonstration of surgeries from the Operation Theatres of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
The Live Operative Workshop and Conference, ‘LAPCON-2022’ was organized successfully under the efficient guidance of President, U.P.A.S.I. and Senior Surgeon of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Professor (Dr.) J.P. Sharma.
Organizing Secretary of the Live Operative Workshop and Conference, HOD, Deptt. of Surgery, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Professor Dr. (Major) Anurag Bijlwan in his address to the gathering said that this is the very first State level Live Operative Workshop and Conference organized by Deptt. of Surgery, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital in which eminent and highly experienced laparoscopic surgeons from highly reputed medical institutions showed live demonstrations and then answered the queries of medical students especially the P.G. students in Surgery and other surgeons. He said that this valuable knowledge and exposure imparted will be beneficial to the patients directly as these modern techniques will be used by surgeons in the treatment and operations of patients. He expressed deep gratitude towards Chairman of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj for his divine blessings and ideal guidance under which the Deptt. of Surgery of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital is successfully treating the patients.
Dr. Anurag said that this Live Operative Workshop and Conference is a unique platform for all the surgeons to express ideas and share knowledge. He said that especially it is a golden opportunity for the surgery students and young surgeons to get guidance on how to improve their skills.
