On the pious occasion of Guru Purnima on 3 July, The department of Biochemistry celebrated "Foundation Day" and showcased the academic achievements for the last two years. The department of Biochemistry has tried to live up to the aspirations of academic excellence under the able guidance of Professor R.K. Singh.

The Department runs Mahant Indiresh Hospital Biochemistry Laboratory and Molecular Research Laboratory. Both the laboratories are fully equipped with automated instruments and are running successfully, maintaining high quality standards.

The academic excellence achieved by the department can be assessed simply by the ninteen International and five national publications in high impact journals by the faculty members. The department has organized 4 international conferences & CME’s, with participants from all over the world.

The department also has honored the students for academic excellence in biochemistry in the MBBS First professional university examination for the past 3 yrs. Parul Sharma, Reha Rakhola & Niyatee Uniyal have been awarded.

The students activally involved in the departmental cultural & academic activities have also been recognized- Rachit Garg, Nishant Mehta, Jitendra k Singh, Udit Nassa, Vikrant have all received certificate of appreciation. Poornima and Gunjan Nagarkoti have been awarded for best seminar presentations.

The department also organized a CME on "Recent Advances in laboratory medicine" moderated by Dr. Tariq Masood. Prof. S.P. Thapliyal, Advisor, Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission; Prof. S.K. Ghildiyal, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai institute of Medical & Health Sciences; and Prof. V.A. Baurai, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai (P.G.) college graced the occasion as the Chief Guest , Chair and the Guest of Honour respectively.

The Vote of Thanks on the occasion was delieverd by Dr. Anissa Atif Mirza. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Manisha Naithani, Dr. Rajesh, ,Mr Rajeev Kushwaha, Mr. Narotam, Mr. RB Thapa.
